INTRA SCHOOL COMPETITIONS
• World Environment Day was observed by sensitizing the children on saving our planet and conducting various competitions. Drawing competitions for classes I to V were conducted on the topic “ Only One Earth.” Slogan writing competitions and Power Point Presentations were held on the topic “ Living Sustainably in Harmony with Nature” for Std VI to VIII and Std IX and X respectively.
• National Reading month in June was observed to inculcate the habit of reading . Story telling competitions for std I to V and book review competitions for Std VI to X were conducted.
• Competitions for Independence day were conducted on the theme “ Har Ghar Tiranga” as envisioned by the CBSE. Drawing competitions for std I to V and poster making, quiz and cooking without fire competitions for std VI to VIII were conducted.
• Clay modeling and poster making competitions were conducted for Vinayar Chaturthi for all the classes.
• Thirukurral recitation competitions were conducted for stds I to IX in September 2022.
• Mandela art competitions were conducted for Std XI on 30th September.
• In connection with Swatantratha ki Amrit Mahotsav, fancy dress competitions for std I to III and Oratorical competitions for stds IV to VII were conducted during the month of October.
• With Children’s Day in the month of November, The following competitions were conducted on Childrens Day : Std I – Fancy Dress , Std II – Pencil Shaving, Std III – Clay Modelling, Std IV –Slogan Writing Std V- Cooking without fire, Std VI- Drawing competitions , Std VII- Handwriting competition, StdVIII- Best Out of Waste, Std IX- Vegetable Carving, Std X – Essay writing and Std XI- Leaf Painting Competitions.
• In the month of December as part of Margazhi Utasav, Singing competitions were conducted from Stds I to VIII. Std XI had a competition on the Pros and Cons of Social Media.
• Certificates were given to the prize winners .
INTERSCHOOL COMPETITIONS
• Our students took part in the interschool competitions held at Green Valley Public Schoolin the first week of August . Suraj from Std IV won the 3rd prize in pot painting while Sri Chandana won the 1st prize in Mandela Art Competition . Aliya Fathima, Parinitha, Yohanethra, Gaurav & Sai Arunachalam Std XI won the 2nd prize in the Dance competition. Gaurav also won the 1st place in JAM.
• Shri Krishnaswamy group of Schools Sports meet was held on 15th July 2022 at Rajarathinam Stadium. Our student Abishek of Class VIII won the Junior category individual championship by wining the gold in the 200m dash, long jump and shot put. Karuna Adikari won the 1st place in the 200m run and 2nd in the long jump. Krish won the 3rd place in the 400m dash and Advika also won the 3rd place in the 200m run. Rukmani and Vaishnavi won the 2nd place in the 100 and 200m run respectively. Our std X students Jenifer, Rukmani and Vaishnavi won the 1st place in the under 17, 4X100 mts relay for girls.
• In the Inter school Kids Fest conducted by Schram Academy, Udyathi of LKG won the 2nd prize in the colouring competition and Yuktha won the 3rd prize in the fancy dress competition.
• On 26th November, an Inter School Athletic Meet was held at Ramachandra Medical College, Porur. Our students Abishek Adhikari from Std II won the gold in 50m, 75m,and hurdles. He won the individual championship and got a bicycle. G. Ananya from LKG won the 1sr prize in 25m and 3rd place in 50m while V. Krithish from LKG bagged the 2nd place in 25m and 3rd places in 50m.
• MCC Public school conducted an interschool competition . Diya of Std IX won the 3rd place iin the oratorical competition while Aliya, Gaurav and Gowtham won the 2nd prize in Pitch Perfect.
• Our school girls team won the runners up position in the Interschool TableTennis competition conducted by the West Cluster of the Chennai Sahodaya at Maharishi Vidya Mandir, Chetpet. Sri Nithi, Darshini and Joshika played with Chinmaya Vidyalaya in the finals.
• Abishek of Std VIII won the gold medal in the under 14category for shotput. Adit Pandit of Std VI also secured the gold in the under 12 category for shotput conducted by the West Cluster schools.
EVENTS & CELEBRATIONS
• International Yoga Day was observed on 21st June,2022. Our students participated in the Nation wide celebrations. Awareness programme for the staff and parents on the benefits of Yoga was also held.
• National Doctors Day was celebrated to recognize the yeomen service of our doctors. Dr. Lenin, Orthopedic Surgeon was the Chief Guest. Thank you cards were distributed to the doctors in and around Anna Nagar.
• To inculate leadership qualities in our students, the Investiture ceremony was held on 8th July, 2022.. The student office bearers were administered the oath and given badges The Chief guests were Dr. Kapil Dev and Dr. S.S. Rukmani.
• “UTKARSH” , our Inter School Kiddies Athletic Meet was held on 9th July, 2022. There was a lot of enthusiasm and joy among the children. Mrs. Rajeswari, former Principal of Hayagreva School and CBSE Resource person was the Chief Guest.
• Kamarajar’s birthday was celebrated on 15th July with speeches and patriotic songs being sung.
• Paper Bag Day was observed in July to encourage the use of Paper bags and avoiding plastics. Paper bags made by our students were distributed in supermarkets and shops.
• Independence Day was celebrated to kindle the patriotic fervour.
• Glass Painting workshop was conducted for the students of Std VI to VIII on 13TH August 2022.
• Vinayagar Chaturthi was celebrated on 30th August. Competitions were held to mark the occasion.
• The Annual Primary Sports meet was held on 3rd September . Mrs. Hemamalini Balasubramanian – Educationist and resource person was the Chief Guest.
• A workshop on inner beauty was held for the students of Std IX to XI from 28th to 30th September 2022. This was done by Mrs. Ramani,
• Mrs. Anitha and Mrs Gayathri from Brahmakumaris.
• Navarathri was also celebrated with a religious spirit. Golu was a part of the celebration.
• On October 20th, Swachhch Bharath Rally was conducted highlighting the need for cleanliness and a green environment . Our students also visited the orphanage .
• Our primary students had been to DDPodhigai office for a recording of the talents of our students. This was broadcast on 5th January 2023.
• On 29th October, our students of Std XI went to Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Virugambakkam , to witness the Science Expo and participate in the science quiz. They had the opportunity to witness the speeches of Professor from Kalpakkam and the Vice Chancellor from SRM University.
• Pongal was celebrated in a grand manner. Pongal made by the staff was distributed and children enjoyed the traditional games and ride on the bullock card. Uriadi was conducted for the staff. It was an enjoyable day for the staff and students.
• Gaana Sangamam was held in Chinmaya Vidyalaya , Taylors Road, by the West Cluster Schools were students from various schools participated in the mega Singing event. Our students Sanmika, Desai from std VI, Lekha, Kethriya from std VII, and Saadhithya Kalki from Std VIII participated in the event.
• Republic Day was celebrated .
• The Annual day was held on January 27th , 2023 in the school. The chief guest was Mr. S. Jagannathan, Larsen & Toubro, L&T Construction, Vice President & Chief Technology Officer, Chairman- National Committee of Intern ational Water Association- India Chapter. The theme was ‘ Matha, Pitha, Guru & Deivam’ . The cultural performance by the students’ was wonderful and parents were all praise for them.
KINDERGARTEN ACTIVITIES
• The National Educational Policy has underlined the importance of Education in the early years, which will play a crucial role in paving a child’s path. In keeping with this principle, we at Shri Krishnaswamy Vidyashram ensure that our KG students are also given the best opportunities. They enjoy Yoga, dance and music.
• In June, ‘My first day’ was done as a photoframe activity. Awareness programme for parents and grandparents on Yoga was conducted . The sensory activity was also held.
• The students have celebrated colour days, in July.
• Friendship day, school tour and book free day activities along with good manners and colouring competitions was held in August.
• In October, a fancy dress competition on ‘our Helpers’ and Show & Tell on the Animal Kingdom was held.
• Competitions were held for Children’s Day in November.
• Rhymes competition was held in the month of December.
CONTRIBUTIONS
The qualities of compassion and empathy were inculcated by sharing with the less fortunate. Our students have contributed Rs. 4300/- for the Indian Association for the Blind. For Diwali, stationery and biscuits in sizeable quantities were donated by our students to Guild of Service Home.
We thank our parents who have helped us in building the spirit of compassion in our students.
